Prosecké skály (Prosek Rocks)
Prosecké skály are a natural monument, yet their current form was largely shaped by humans. In the local quarries, sandstone was mined in the past, especially soft and weathered layers that were crushed into fine sand. The mining left distinct rock walls and entrances to underground tunnels on the slope.
Beneath the surface lies an extensive labyrinth of corridors, sometimes up to two meters high. Some have gradually collapsed, others remain preserved; during the economic crisis, families of unemployed workers reportedly lived there, and during World War II, they served as an air-raid shelter. The educational trail Amerika runs around the rocks, presenting the local nature and mining history.

Prosecké skály Viewpoint
The viewpoint was created in 2016 at the upper edge of Prosecké skály. A stone platform reinforced with a wire structure juts out over the slope and is accessible via a steel grid footbridge. From here, there is a wide view over Libeň, Palmovka, Holešovice, Karlín, and more distant parts of Prague.
The viewpoint is part of the Amerika educational trail, which runs along the edge of the rocks and recalls the history of local sandstone mining and the Prosek underground. You can also reach it via the blue tourist trail; it is only a few minutes’ walk from the Bobovka area.

It is located along Mladoboleslavská Street and neighbors the 24th Transport Air Base. If you come from our place, you will see the meteorological tower from afar, the entrance to the military base behind it, and shortly after, you will see a fighter jet and the entrance to the Aviation Museum behind it.
The public transport stop ‘Letecké muzeum’ is a request stop. If you come by car, just past the gate to LM Kbely, there is a parking lot on the left side, clearly marked with arrows. Parking and museum entrance are free of charge.

By the number and quality of its collections, it ranks among the largest aviation museums in Europe. It has over 300 aircraft in its collections, and thanks to excellent cooperation with the Czech Army and the Aviation Training Center Pardubice (operated by LOM Praha, state enterprise), more are gradually being added.

In July 2026, visitors to LM Kbely had a unique opportunity to see two Aero company planes side by side, separated by a century. On the occasion of 100 years since the return from the unique promotional flight of the blue biplane Aero Ab-11 (23 countries), the newest Aero L-39 Skyfox aircraft landed at the 24th Transport Air Base. More about the flight and its journey here:
You can see the blue biplane Aero Ab-11 in the Aviation Museum exhibits anytime you visit.
It is open during the summer season (from opening until September) every day except Monday from 10:00 to 18:00. In October, it is open on weekends. The last visitor is admitted at 17:30.
At the same time as the Aviation Museum area on Mladoboleslavská Street, the Stará Aerovka area (opposite across the street near Letňany Airport) is also opening.
Just under a block before this event, after careful renovation in the LOM Praha workshops, a unique prototype VZLÚ-TOM 8 was returned to the Aviation Museum. The aircraft, which entered the Military History Institute’s collections as a wreck, was restored to its original appearance through the careful work of restorers and aviation technicians. The technicians even conducted an engine test.
